My Baby!

I can't believe he's almost 4 months old! I can't believe I love a little person SO much! He is a joy to be with everyday. I am So blessed to be able to stay home with him. I am thankful for my husband and his job which provides us all we need.

In the last 3 1/2 months I have seen my little guy change tremendously! He loves to smile and laugh although he has his moments. He wouldn't smile at his grandmother the other day! I guess he was in a bad mood :) Even that makes me laugh and smile. He's starting to reach for things and really play with toys that are placed close to him. A month ago he didn't have the coordination to reach up and grab a dangling toy from his play mat, now he's strong enough to take it down! That completely amazes me!! He's reaching for our faces too!

I just love him!

People suck!!

I'm sorry if this subject is kinda harsh.
I was watching Dr. Phil the other day-yes I watch Dr. Phil- and part of the show was about an 11 year old that's been missing for 10 years. I know some children go missing for years on end but what was interesting about this little boy is that he was only reported missing a month ago. He has been missing for 10 years and NO ONE reported it?! People suck!!This little boy was taken away from his biological parents and placed with this family, who ended up adopting him. He was abused while living with his adoptive parents and NO ONE said anything. The sister of the adoptive mother saw this little boy chained up in the bathroom and she did nothing. She witnessed the little boy being treated like a piece of CRAP and did nothing. Shouldn't she be arrested too? Dr. Phil ripped her a new one!! That was great!
For those of you who live in Dallas/Fort Worth, you may have heard of a young couple being arrested for abusing their 6 month old son. But it was torture not abuse!! These AWFUL people repeatedly broke his bones, crushed his hands and feet, and even bit his finger to the bone!! I can't believe ANYONE could do something so evil. This really hits home because I have 3 month old. He is SO innocent and helpless. He looks to me for everything. How can u treat a beautiful child so badly? There are SO many people who would have taken that child and loved him his whole life. This also makes me question my faith. If all this little boy's purpose in this world was to suffer, then why was he born? He shouldn't of he had to endure TORTURE for his short little life. I am a firm believer in everything happens for a reason, but I can't find a reason in this! Why God? Why?
That's why I work with animals!!

Blessed!!

Today I heard some very sad news...

My brother has a co-worker who was pregnant with a boy. I was about 3 months ahead of her. A neighbor of my mothers gave us some of her boys extra clothes and I intern gave her some too. Well, she had her son 2 nights ago and now they are saying there may be something wrong. That he could have some mental disabilities. They are thinking the fetus "caught" something while in the 2nd trimester but Dr's aren't completely sure yet. I'm writing this and the baby could end up ok and I'm praying he will be.

I cried with my son after I learned about this woman I have never met. I KNOW how lucky I am to have my beautiful boy! He is the most precious thing in the whole world. Lots of things had to be in place for us to have him and God thought that we were special enough to care for and love him. When you're pregnant ALL you want is a healthy baby. You can wish and pray for a boy or a girl but in the end it doesn't matter as long as he/she is well. Thank you God for giving me a big healthy baby boy! And as tears roll down my face I pray for my brother's co-worker, that she will find the strength to endure lifes challenges because God doesn't present us with these challenges if he didn't think he could deal with them. I hope one day to meet her and her son!

Went to the zoo today...

I started volunteering back at work today! I missed all the animals and some of them really missed me. It was fun hosing out all the cages. It's instant gratification. It was dirty and now its clean. I loved it!! I was nice to see a lot of old faces and work out of the house for a little bit. I only put in half day though. I'm not ready to leave my little one for very long.

I have a new respect for working mothers after today. I went in at 9 but I had to be up by 6:45 in order to get myself and the Matt ready. I made it out of the house right on time. I'm lucky that I can drop him off with me mother and she doesn't live far. After dropping him off I did all I could do and not cry. It was only going to be for 4 hours but by the end of my 4 hours I felt like I hadn't seen him in ages.

I am truely blessed that I can stay home with him. I'm thankful for my husband who provides us a good living and enables me to care for our son!

My first blog!!

Well here goes... I'm not sure who'd actually read this, but we'll see.

So far this is the 2nd best year of my life. The first being Oct. 2008 when my son was born. Right now he is 3 months old and he is wonderful. I love him more than my life. I now understand how parens feel about their kids. It is a total cliche but it's true. I can't imagine my life without him. I have more love for that little boy than I ever thought I'd ever have!

This little guy is my little miracle. I never thought I'd get pregnant. At 19 I was diagnosis with Endometriosis and had a tumor removed from my ovary. I'd been told that I would have problems getting pregnant and actually had a 20% chance of getting pregnant. Since I heard that news SO young my natural defense mechanism was to tell myself that I didn't want kids. My husband did however. But it was easier to tell myself I didn't want kids than to try and be devestated.

So we lived very selfish life for a long time. We came and went as we pleased. We were lucky and never worried about money so we basically bought whatever we wanted. We were able to travel all the way to Australia! We had a great life, but I never new something was missing until I got pregnant.

We weren't trying at all! Our son was a complete surprise. I had run out of BC pills and I wasn't going to the Dr for 3 weeks. This wasn't the first time I have run out of BC and I wasn't the best at taking the pills in the first place so I wasn't worried! Boy was I wrong!!

My pregnancy was tough but feeling him move was a daily blessing. Now I'm a stay-at-home mom and I LOVE it!!
